Breaking the Brassy Band

We have all have had that one client who comes in with the dreaded brassy band. Chrissy is going to show us how to not only get rid of the brassy band, but also how to prevent it from happening again. She begins by baby lighting and low lighting the whole head. Always make sure to have SUPER fine sections. She is highlighting with Goldwell Oxycur 20 vol and low lighting with Goldwell Colorance 7N with a little 7G. After that, she is going in between foils with Redken Shades EQ 7n and 9p., making sure to bring that down a little bit past the brassy band. After processing, to tone she smudges the root with Goldwell Colorance 7N 7NA using a 1:1 ratio of color to the solution, bringing the smudge down only a ½ inch – 1 inch in the back. Then, she uses Redken Shades EQ 9 N 9GB in the mids of the hair to make a more natural look. Lastly, to brighten the ends, she uses Goldwell Colorance 10 BS.
